Welcome to the Save-Your-Money Blog!

The Save-Your-Money blog is a new resource for all things free and over time will become an accumulation of important information, articles, hints and tips all revolving around one thing: getting stuff for free. There are a lot of people trying to utilize the internet in order to get free stuff. Whether it be free game consoles, free MP3 players, free PCs and laptops or any other free items - there are already people who are after it with the hope of there being no cost to themselves. Are there people who actually succeed in getting expensive game consoles and other high-tech gadgets for free? The answer is yes.

The main method for getting stuff for free on the internet is commonly known as a referral or reward scheme. Referral/reward schemes have been around for about 5 years now and the basic idea behind them is to offer people incentives, often in the form of game consoles and iPods, to try and get them to refer other people to their sponsors. For example, I decide I want an iPod Nano for free and sign up to Gifts.FreebieJeebies.com. I complete a free offer to be eligible for my gift. Because the value of this gift is 7 referrals, I am required to get 7 different people to sign up using my personal referral link and have them also complete an offer. This process is known as getting ‘greens’. Once I have referred 7 people, I verify my account and my iPod Nano is shipped to me in the next week.

So, how are the ‘freebie’ networks able to afford to send out hundred of free iPods and free game consoles at little to no cost to the consumer? When you sign up, you complete an offer. Regardless of how much completing that offer costs you, the advertiser pays the freebie network a set price for sending you to them and signing up. They also pay the freebie network for all of the referrals you send through when you’re promoting your personal referral link to gain enough ‘greens’ for your free item. The freebie networks actually make enough money out of the referral system alone to buy you your chosen gift for free aswell as make a little profit.

Save-Your-Money.co.uk is a website that has been put together to help freebie hunters all over the world by providing proof that this system does work, along with further information to get you started and hints and tips to keep you going. I suggest aiming for something small to begin with like an iPod Shuffle which only requires 2 referrals. As soon as you’ve referred two people and your iPod Shuffle arrives at your door at no cost to you, you too will realise the potential of referral/reward schemes. Why pay for all of your game consoles and other free hight-tech gadgets when you can get them for free?
